Our courses are designed for CPR Certification (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation), BLS Certification (Basic Life Support), and First Aid Certification. They are from national leaders in health and safety instruction:

• HSI -- Health & Safety Institute 
• AHA -- American Heart Association

CPR Plus More is an independent HSI-authorized training center and approved to teach AHA courses. You will receive a certification card as proof of your successful training. AHA and HSI cards are nationally recognized and accepted. The cards meet OSHA certification requirements for employees (Occupational Safety & Health Administration). All training is by professionals with backgrounds in emergency care. The owner of the company is Kathy Gwinn, a registered nurse with a specialty in cardiology. Click onto the Credentials page for more information.

Most clients take our courses with blended learning. They start with computer-based, online lessons, which are combined with an in-person session for hands-on skill practice and performance evaluation. Online lessons greatly reduce the time needed for in-person groups. Online lessons show high-quality demonstrations, using actors and simulated emergencies. You still need an instructor for review and to give you CPR practice on a manikin. The instructor completes your skills evaluation, which is required for certification.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) -- The AED is a medical device for victims of sudden cardiac arrest. CPR Plus More includes AED training in its CPR courses. We  offer an AED program for equipment purchase and support. 

Emergency Planning and Preparedness -- CPR Plus More will evaluate your site and develop written emergency plans. There is a special program for public facilities. The plan will cover emergency equipment, evacuations, shelter-in-place procedures for tornadoes, staff training, and security.
